Happy (delayed) 4th of July!

What did you all do for the 4th of July?

I… went to a pool party with my family, and watched fireworks at night, singing the “star- spangled banner.”

Thank you so much Back’s for opening up your home to us for the 4th!

This is the pool we swam at…

Ha! Just kidding… it had a diving board.

What does Independence day mean to you?

O Sole Mio

I used to not like this song, but… that just changed.

And, I’m left with an appetite for Italian music. It also gave me chills.

I thought that the kid to the left of them all singing, looked very genuine, and didn’t care what anyone thought about him.

I want his character.

Dear Mother –

If I could give you diamonds

for each tear you’ve cried;

If I could give you sapphires

for each truth you’ve helped me see;

If I could give you rubies

for the heartache that you’ve known,

If I could give you pearls

for the wisdom that you’ve shown.

Then you’d have a treasure; Mother,

That would mount up to the skies;

That would almost match the sparkle

in your kind and loving eyes.

But I have no pearls or diamonds,

as I’m sure your well aware,

So I’ll give you gifts more precious,

my devotion love and care.

love,

Dance like nobody is watching

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, It’s about learning to dance in the rain. – Unknown

Merry CHRISTmas!

Merry Christmas! Is it just me? Or does it seem like ( a lot ) of people are saying Happy Holidays, as apposed to Merry CHRISTmas?

Could it be, just maybe, the word CHRIST in it? Oh no, say it isn’t so!

I found quiet a few of the most beautiful Christmas ornament pictures on the web, and thought we could pour a little color on to this blog.

Have a very merry Christmas!

Give Thanks ~ That you’re not a Turkey

Whippn' and dipp'n

Did you know, That the President pardons a Turkey each year from being cooked? It’s true!

Furthermore, did you know that our American founders were Pioneers? I’m pretty sure you knew that.

Have you told a friend or family member that you are very thankful for them? How about one of their great qualities?

Here is a tradition that we do; save all your toilette paper rolls (hear me out…), and put little cards inside that name out some of your family members GOOD qualities (they don’t need to be reminded about their faults yet, ladies!). If your feeling extra nice, you could even stuff some cute little trinkets n’ such inside for extra enjoyment. Wrap the roll up in wrapping paper, and tie the ends with ribbon. When it is time to open them, you pull on the sides and it is supposed to pop open. Just be careful your items don’t go flying everywhere.

I’m in a good mood today, so here is one of our family Thanksgiving recipes:

Whoever makes this recipe for Thanksgiving will get a personal blog shout-out from me!

(Hope that motivates y’all!)
