Soundtracks and Emotions

Have you ever heard soundtrack music? I have. Actually that is probably the bulk of what I listen to. My family has about 25 different soundtracks. Why do I like it? Well, because it is emotional, moving, and seems to take you places that don’t even exist. It makes you feel like you are in a movie, with the whole world watching; you are the only person left and you have to get the last copy of the Bible safely out of the evil clutches of the Wicker king and your beautiful dark purple dress with violet trim and blue flower embroidery that looks like something off of Lord of the Rings is ripped and dirty and you are in a dark tunnel running up a hill and have to get to the portal before the goblins gobble you up and you are running in slow motion to the music and the mountain is caving in around you and fire is spurting behind you and right before the biggest goblin reaches you…

Or, you are a lonely girl with a dragon friend who takes you on a ride over a beautiful city skyline with sweeping music in the background…

Yes, I do make stupid stories like this when I listen to soundtrack music. Most of the time.

Music is so sweeping, moving, depressing.

Sometimes it makes me feel so small; like I am listening to eternity. You have to hear it to believe it.

  1. Oooh!! That first story you made up sounds like it would make a great story!! (with a few modifications – I probably wouldn’t use goblins! 😛 I don’t think it’s stupid at all! In fact, it makes me want to “steal” it from you – it could be so much fun to write!!! 😀

I love music too! Sometimes they help me write, sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes they make me dance, sometimes they help me cry, sometimes they make me want to go do some composing or practicing of my own… 🙂

To the KING be all the glory!

  2. Nechet, I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets carried away while listening to soundtracks! 😉 Espeically after I discover a super epic track; because than it stays on repeat on my MP3 player for…about…a week solid. 😛

    I love music!
